  With several tourist fishing trips offering Wreck, Reef, & Charter Angling Trips in Whitby and the local area, this can be a perfect and fun day out for all. Should you have a particularly successful catch, our chefs would be more than happy to cook your own freshly caught dinner!

• Pampering
  Pampering is something we take very seriously here at the Cliffemount, with the firm belief that everybody deserves it! Vicky is a local beauty therapist and offers a wide range of beauty treatments and therapy from in house massages to manicures. Why not enjoy a glass of bubbly and have your nails done whilst enjoying that beautiful sweeping view? Sounds perfect to us...!

• Walking, Cycling and Bird Watching
  For nature lovers the surrounding area is perfect. The famous Cleveland way runs through Runswick Bay on its 109mile route from the pretty town of Helmsley to Saltburn.
  With an amazing array of wildlife in the North Yorkshire Moors area, you'll be spoilt for choice! With the grasslands of the moors housing a range of butterflies, birds and wild flowers and the coastal regions are pure ornithological heaven!

• Geologists Heaven and Beach Combing
  Runswick Bay is constantly topping all the lists for beach coming hotspots in the country. No matter if your passion is palaeontology or the just idea of finding hidden treasures tickles your fancy, it comes highly recommended as a fun activity.
  With a beach rich in ammonites and other various ancient treasures, it's almost impossible not to discover something fascinating on the shore of this picturesque bay.

• Astronomy and Star Gazing
  In today's busy, industrial world it's sometimes hard to appreciate the natural beauty of the night sky. If you ever do get the time to gaze up at the stars, chances are that light pollution hinder their beauty.
  Take a step away from all of that and come to the Cliffemount. A place were pollution of all kinds is at an absolute minimum. With several of our stunning rooms having their own private balcony (and two with their own telescopes!), this really is the perfect place for star crossed lovers and astronomers alike!
