Our menu is something we are particularly proud of here at the Cliffemount. Constantly evolving and reflecting the season, our food is locally sourced (where possible) and expertly prepared by our team of skilled and passionate chefs.

Head Chef, David Spencer and Proprietor Ian Rae work closely together sourcing the best of local ingredients and can often be found discussing our cuisine with guests and customers and frequently gives passionate personal recommendations!
Whilst offering a delicious variety of mouth-watering dishes to cater for all pallets, our specialty and passion is seafood. Our famous signature dish “A Taste of Whitby” is an absolute must if you've never tried it before (and highly recommended even if you have!). In the right season, our game is brought fresh from the shoot and, when available, lobsters are pulled in right from the bay.
With stunning views of Runswick Bay you can soak up the beauty of the ocean whilst enjoying the food that came from it.
During the summer months the restaurant extends to the garden allowing our guests to enjoy al fresco dining whilst soaking up the stunning views from the bay below, weather permitting we often light up the barbeque and serve chargrilled food!!!
