"On arrival we had a very warm welcome and were given a fantastic room with a view of the bay. Our first night we ate in the restaurant and our meal was superb I can recommend the steak it was fantastic. Our bed was really comfortable and we had a really good nights sleep. The next morning breakfast was a delicious full English it was lovely. We found everyone to be really friendly and helpful and nothing to much trouble. We left feeling relaxed and sun burnt. Thanks for a fantastic break and can we order the peacock pie on our return."
"FANTASTIC!!! This hotel was all I hoped it would be and more. We had a fantastic view from our room and I was able to have my morning cuppa propped with my pillows in bed looking at the magnificent bay. The breakfast was delicious and again with the that bay in full view from the full window and our evening meal fabulous......mmmm the food!!! I had the taste of Whitby starter and it was to die for and the chefs lemon meringue pie ...welll what can I say other than TRY IT... its an experience and interestingly served in a JAR!!! We walked to Sandsend which was lovely walk...strenuous start up the steps to reach the cliff top but well worth it and then a wander to the village up there and I recommend a mosey round the gallery there as the artist has some lovely work. Onto Sandsend from there and Lunch in super little Pub and bus back landing by the Runswick Bay Hotel."
"Excellent small hotel. Service outstanding, particularly our waitress. Food was amazing, top quality produce making up some delicious dishes, a joy for fish lovers. Views from our room over the bay and beach were stunning. Will definitely return later this year."
"We chose this hotel based on location, price and other reviews. We were not disappointed. I have stayed in more expensive 4 and 5 star hotels and the quality of service, food, and the rooms at the Cliffemount were on par and in some cases (especially the food) was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful and surpassed our expectations suffice to say that we would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing for good quality accommodation on the North Yorkshire Coast."
